Terms for guests
Last updated: 10 October 2026
This translation is provided for convenience; the Spanish version prevails.
1. Parties and scope
These terms govern bookings made by guests on Staydia. The accommodation contract is between the guest and the host shown on the listing, who provides the stay. Staydia ([to be configured: company name]) operates the platform, collects the payment on the host's behalf, manages cancellations and refunds and offers support.
2. Price
The total shown before paying is final: nights, cleaning, extra guests, discounts, tourist tax where applicable and the service fee. The amount charged is exactly the quote you accepted; if the price changes while you book, you are asked to confirm the new one.
3. How a booking is made
- Instant booking: the nights are held for a few minutes while you pay and the booking is confirmed when the payment succeeds.
- Booking request: the amount is authorised on your card and only charged if the host accepts within 24 hours; otherwise the authorisation is released.
You receive the confirmation by email and in "Your trips", with the exact address, check-in times and house rules.
4. Cancellation by the guest
Each listing shows its cancellation policy before you pay and the booking keeps it:
| Policy | Full refund | Afterwards |
|---|---|---|
| Flexible | Up to 1 day before check-in | No refund of the accommodation |
| Moderate | Up to 5 days before check-in | 50 % of the accommodation |
| Strict | Up to 14 days before check-in | 50 % until 7 days before, then nothing |
| Non-refundable | — | No refund of the accommodation |
In every policy: if you cancel within 48 hours of booking and check-in is 14 days away or more, everything is refunded; the tourist tax is always refunded; the service fee follows the accommodation. Refunds go back to the same card.
5. Right of withdrawal
Under article 103(l) of the Spanish consumer law (TRLGDCU), accommodation services for a specific date have no statutory 14-day right of withdrawal; the cancellation policy of the booking applies instead.
6. Cancellation by the host and problems during the stay
If the host cancels, you get a full refund. If something is wrong (you cannot get in, the place does not match the listing, cleanliness, safety), report it from your trip: the support team reviews it and may arrange a partial refund.
7. Guest obligations
- Respect the house rules, the number of guests booked and the neighbours.
- Provide the details of every guest before arrival: Spanish law (Royal Decree 933/2021) requires accommodation providers to register them. You can fill them in from your trip.
- Pay and communicate only through the platform.
8. Reviews
After the stay, guest and host can review each other for 14 days; both reviews are published at the same time. Reviews must be truthful and respectful.
9. Complaints and applicable law
Write to ayuda@staydia.com. Consumers may also go to the consumer arbitration system or the body indicated here: the competent consumer authority of their region. Spanish law applies and consumers may sue in the courts of their place of residence. See also the privacy policy.
